Project Overview
This project is part of my exploration into future technologies, where I envisioned a world powered by portable fusion reactors which would be an energy source that could revolutionize how we power communities. For this project, I selected portable fusion power as one example of the many potential future technologies and I built a proof of concept experience that simulates its impact on communities.
The Vision
Imagine a company that has unlocked the potential of fusion energy and is now introducing portable fusion reactors to communities worldwide. These reactors provide clean, unlimited energy, offering a solution to global power needs while accelerating the transition toward zero-point energy.
The Experience:
In this walking simulator, I created an environment that lets users explore a fake neighborhood where portable fusion reactors have been integrated into daily life. As they walk through the area, players encounter a variety of user stories with residents, each offering a unique perspective on how this new technology has impacted their lives.
Key Features of the Simulation:
Immersive Neighborhood: A futuristic community powered by portable fusion reactors, with homes, streets and a research facility that houses the experience of daily life.
User Stories: Diverse characters share their thoughts on fusion power, including both excitement and concerns, providing a balanced view of the technology’s potential.
Interactive Exploration: Players can “see” the fusion reactors and their energy flow through the community using an x-ray vision feature that visualizes the inner workings of the power system.
Proof of Concept:
To bring this vision to life, I developed a simulation that serves as a proof of concept to demonstrate how portable fusion reactors could be integrated into residential environments. Though this project is not a complete product it offers a glimpse into what could be the future.
